From the South:

Leaving Verteillac heading north on the D708, drive downhill past the agricultural co-operative and turn right about 300 metres later onto the D84 (signposted for La Tour Blanche). After about 600 metres you will see the Le Texier sign on the right hand side. Follow the single-track lane to the top of the hill and you will arrive at Le Texier.

From the North:

Heading south from Angoulême you will approach Verteillac on the D708. Before you arrive at the village you will pass a pharmacy with a green cross on the right-hand side of the road. The turning for the D84 (signposted for La Tour Blanche) is shortly after this on the left. Take this road and after about 600 metres you will see the Le Texier sign on the right hand side. Follow the single-track lane to the top of the hill and you will arrive at Le Texier.

 

BY CAR:

Verteillac is approximately 480miles / 780km from Calais.

Unless you are planning a sightseeing trip we recommend avoiding the route through Paris.

The nearest airport is Bergerac at approx. 40miles/65km (1 hour’s drive)

Limoges airport is approx. 65 miles/110km (around an hour and a half drive)

Bordeaux airport is approx. 90 miles/130km (around an hour and a half drive)

 

BY TRAIN:

London St Pancras to Angouleme via Paris can be completed in just over 5 hours. The trip from Paris takes approx 2h 20mins direct to Angouleme, which is the nearest TGV station and is approx 30miles/50km from Le Texier and has car hire available.
